About Padi IDC
What is an IDC ?
2 weeks, plus 3 days examination, dive master certification
required, plus 100 logged dives. During 2 weeks
of class room, confined and open water training,
you will learn to conduct all PADI courses, under
the supervision of a Course Director. At the end
of the IDC, the Instructor examination ( IE) will
take place in a friendly and relax atmosphere.
Here you go, you have decided to be a pro. Congratulations,
dive instructor is a rich life, you meet plenty
of people, you travel, discover other cultures,
and you dive, dive, dive. When you work as a dive
instructor, you can earn a lot, earn only what to
eat, be happy or be a slave. There are tips, there
are traps, don't hesitate to contact us, we've been
through that !
The program:
During 14 days, within maximum 10 candidates,
you will follow your IDC in a charming resort
made for divers. The IDC preparation takes 3 days
before the IDC, during the one you will also be
certified Nitrox diver, or Nitrox instructor.
Plenty of time to prepare yourself.

Working as a dive instructor
The profession of dive Instructor is
like any profession. Some are struggling to go through the end
of the month, and some are living happy and buy new dive gear
every year. How much you will earn and how nice your life will
be depends on 3 things: your language skills, your general looking
and your serious. The higher the quality of your clientele is,
the more you earn; and to attract easy spending customers, you
must present well and if possible speak several languages. Keep
cool, it's not necessary to shave every morning, the simple
fact of being serious will help you gaining the trust of the
dive center managers. Being serious as a dive instructor is
necessary, and this whether you deal with beginners or experienced.
They employ dive instructors in
2 domains: scuba diving courses and liveaboard.
Generally, you save more on liveaboard as you spend very few
- except when you are back on land- and how many nice souvenirs!
What a life experience! Waking up before the sun with the boat
crew, diving at 7H00 am in the dusk of the ocean to meet marine
creatures before the others is an unforgettable moment. The
scuba diving courses also bring some interesting incomes, depending
on the quality of your clientele But the best reward is when
a freshly certified Open Water diver thanks you and asks you
how to continue his education.
On the legal aspect, you can't
work without work permit any more, this in most of the places
on earth. In change, it's less and less hard to obtain. In the
Maldives, you get it without asking. Here in Thailande, you
must hire an accountant who will set up everything for 25000
Thai Baht, and charge 5000 Thai Baht per month, including taxes.

How much do you earn? from 500
Euros to 2000 Euros, depending on what is written above.
A last word: if you are a Padi
dive instructor, we defy you to stay one month without any job
proposition. The padi members web site proposes an online job
market with more than 200 job offers. On top of it, after
your IDC, we will help you setting a resume and a motivation
letter as the dive center managers like to read.
